Save Remove Download Share Subscribe August 22, 2014 YOKOHAMA, Japan – Accepting the challenge from Toyota President, Akio Toyoda, Nissan Motor Company Vice Chairman Toshiyuki Shiga undertook his challenge on the afternoon of August 22. Shiga then challenged Mr. Kaetsu, President of Yokohama F. Marinos football team; Mr. Miyatani, President of Nissan Motorsports International; and Mr. Hoshino, CEO of the luxury hotel group, Hoshino Resorts. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS, is a progressive, neurodegenerative disorder affecting the motor neurons that carry signals from the brain stem and spinal cord to the muscles. Individuals affected by ALS lose the ability to initiate and control all voluntary movements due to muscle weakness and atrophy. As of August 21, the ALS Association announced that it had received $41.8 million in donations.
