David Woodhouse

David Woodhouse is vice president, Nissan Design America (NDA). NDA is part of the global Nissan Design organization and designs vehicles with an emphasis on the Americas region. Woodhouse was appointed to this role in June 2019 and is responsible for leading all Nissan and INFINITI design activities in North America. NDA is a full-service production design studio capable of handling all phases of automotive design development, from exploratory to production in San Diego, along with outposts in Michigan and Silicon Valley. Woodhouse also serves on the company's Global Nissan Design Management Committee.

Prior to joining Nissan, Woodhouse was both global strategic design director overseeing multiple studios around the globe, as well as Lincoln design director at Ford Motor Company where he was responsible for leading the renaissance of the Lincoln brand into a new era of premium automotive design. His previous automotive experience extends 30 years, much of it with global premium brands including Mini, Cadillac, Range Rover and BMW.

Woodhouse is an avid automotive enthusiast who collects, restores and competes in vintage race cars, with multiple Goodwood Revival podiums to his credit. He is a post war GP historian who spends downtime judging concours events or writing about sports and racing car history.

Woodhouse holds a Master of Design (MDesRCA) in Vehicle Design from the Royal College of Art in London and a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Coventry University in England. He is a multiple award-winning designer and his strengths include team building, brand and design strategy, and is a proponent of leading-edge design methods around design thinking and storytelling.
