The Automotive News All-Stars recognition is an annual award honoring outstanding leaders in the automotive industry. In his current role as chairperson, Papin oversees operations and performance for the Nissan and INFINITI brands across North and South America. Under Papin’s guidance, the Americas region has worked to transform Nissan’s business, product lineup and company culture to focus on delivering true customer value – much of this during a global pandemic, semiconductor shortage and supply chain challenges. Papin is responsible for leading the region through its implementation of Nissan Ambition 2030, the company’s long-term vision for creating a cleaner, safer and more inclusive world. As part of this plan, Nissan will introduce 23 electrified models globally, including 15 electric vehicles, by 2030. Nissan is targeting 40% of its U.S. vehicle sales volume to be fully electric by 2030, with even more to be electrified. “This recognition from Automotive News is truly a reflection of the tireless efforts of the Nissan Americas team,” said Papin. “Nissan’s employees continue to demonstrate their commitment to transform our business and our culture at all levels, which has driven strong momentum toward a bright future.” Before joining Nissan in North America in 2018 as senior vice president, Administration & Finance, Papin was Alliance global director, Finance, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, and vice president, Corporate Strategy & Business Development, Groupe Renault. He has held a variety of leadership roles in finance, corporate planning, corporate strategy and business development for the Alliance and Renault. Papin joined the Alliance in 2009 after more than a decade as a financial analyst specializing in the European automotive sector at Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers and Nomura. Papin holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and a master's degree in capital markets and corporate finance (French DESS) from the University of Paris Nanterre. He has also completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. For more information about our products, services and commitment to sustainable mobility, visit nissanusa.com.
