Nissan Frontier named ‘Mid-Size Pickup Truck of Texas’ at 2023 Texas Auto Writers Association Truck Rodeo

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nissan Frontier PRO-4X scored two awards at the 2023 Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Truck Rodeo: "Mid-Size Pickup Truck of Texas" and "Best Overall Value." It was the third consecutive year that Frontier was named the "Mid-Size Pickup Truck of Texas."

At the 2023 Truck Rodeo, held Sept. 28-29 at the Eagles Canyon Raceway off-road course in Decatur, Texas, automotive journalists and content creators evaluated trucks and SUVs and voted for them across multiple categories, considering the vehicles' exterior, interior, value, performance and overall personal appeal.

"TAWA members found that Frontier offers a great value for their hard-earned dollars and enjoyed the powerful combination of versatility, strong good looks, capability and comfort in Frontier," said Teia Collier, president, TAWA. The right-sized pickup that enables adventure, the 2024 Nissan Frontier has a starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)¹ of $29,770. For those intending to spend more time away from pavement, the PRO-X and PRO-4X grades build upon Frontier's already impressive credentials with the addition of Bilstein off-road shock absorbers, unique Lava Red accents inside and out, and 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. PRO-4X also features an electronic locking rear differential and additional underbody skid plates for extra protection from obstacles.

New for the 2024 model year, Frontier adds the Hardbody Special Edition package as a fun, nostalgic homage to the original Hardbody truck of the 1980s. It features 17-inch heritage-styled wheels with all-terrain tires; fender flares; black bumpers, outside mirrors, lower front fascia, door handles and grille; a bed-mounted sport bar; an aluminum skid plate; and black exterior graphics.
