1999 Nissan Z Concept
The Z went on hiatus from 1997 to 2002 in the United States at the end of the (Z32) 300ZX production run. Nissan introduced a concept car at the 1999 North American International Auto Show. Intended to be an homage to the original Z-car, it was a bright orange two-seater with classic swept-back styling. While the car was not the direct inspiration for the V6 350Z that was to launch in 2003, the Z Concept kept the dream of an iconic sports car alive for Nissan at a critical time in the company’s history.
