The "right sized" 5-passenger Rogue Sport slots between the popular Rogue and the front-wheel drive only Nissan Kicks, filling a need for singles and couples who want more space and versatility than the average sedan for everyday urban use and social activities, plus All-Wheel Drive capability.
After receiving a fresh new appearance for the 2020 model year, along with the addition of Nissan Safety Shield® 360 and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning1 as standard equipment on all grade levels, several additional enhancements have been made for 2021. Standard 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels have been added to the S grade level, while the SV grade now includes standard Quick Comfort® heated front seats, remote engine start system2, heated steering wheel, leather-wrapped shift knob and fog lights. Option packages have also been revised.
The 2021 Rogue Sport is available in three well-equipped trim levels – S, SV and SL – each offered in front-wheel and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive configurations.
Sporty exterior, bold new color choices
Most prominent among the last model year's refinements were the new exterior design, which included a new front fascia and hood, V-motion grille and bumper and standard LED signature Daytime Running Lights. In the rear, the combination light design matches the dynamic look of the front end.
The Rogue Sport's compact body projects powerful fender volume and a wheel-oriented stance, along with agile and robust lower body sides, giving it a powerful presence. The exterior also features a large rear opening and a wide rear body appearance, along with a standard rear spoiler. LED low- and high-beam headlights with auto on/off function and fog lights are also available.
Other exterior details include body-color front and rear bumpers, black wheel arches and roof molding, body-color outside mirrors with available integrated turn signals, heated outside mirrors and roof rails. Also offered is a power sliding moonroof with sliding shade as part of the SL Premium Package.
Rogue Sport SL comes with a 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheel design mounted with 225/45R19 all-season tires, providing a premium look. For 2021, Rogue Sport S replaces the previous 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers with the SV grade's 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 215/65R17 all-season tires.
The 2021 Rogue Sport is available in nine exterior colors: Nitro Lime Metallic, Monarch Orange Metallic (premium color), Magnetic Black Pearl, Brilliant Silver Metallic, Gun Metallic, Scarlet Ember Tintcoat (premium color), Pearl White TriCoat (premium color), Glacier White and Caspian Blue Metallic.
Setting the standard for confidence
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on all 2021 Rogue Sport grades, providing front, side and rear safety monitoring and intervention technologies3. Safety Shield 360 includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and High Beam Assist.
The 2021 Rogue Sport is also equipped with standard Intelligent Forward Collision Warning4, which watches up to two cars ahead and when it detects sudden deceleration in front of the vehicle, gives a warning to slow down. The standard Intelligent Lane Intervention5 can detect if the vehicle is straying out of its lane and can tap the brakes to help gently guide the vehicle back.
Standard on Rogue Sport SL are Intelligent Driver Alertness5 and Traffic Sign Recognition. Intelligent Driver Alertness6 is also available with the SV Technology Package.
In addition, the list of standard Rogue Sport safety and security features includes the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt and occupant classification sensors; front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags; roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection; supplemental rear seat-mounted side air bags; and supplemental front knee air bags.
Other standard features include 3-point front and rear seatbelts, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters and adjustable upper anchors; LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren); and Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System.
A sporty yet refined interior
The Rogue Sport interior is designed to keep up with owners' active lifestyles. It has the commanding ride height of a compact SUV, combined with a driver-oriented cockpit that provides a sporty, fun-to-drive feel.
Seating includes a standard 6-way adjustable driver's seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger seat, 60/40 split fold-down rear seat with rear seat center armrest and rear seat heating/cooling center console vents.
Behind the 2nd row seat is up to 22.9 cu. ft. of cargo space (up to 61.1 cu. ft. with the 2nd row seat folded down), accessible through the wide rear hatch. Rogue Sport also offers the innovative class-exclusive4 Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System, which is standard on SV and SL grades. Included as standard on all grades are a cargo area cover and six luggage hooks (four floor, two side).
The instrument panel features Fine Vision electroluminescent gauges and 5.0-inch center meter color display. The front center console includes an integrated armrest and storage compartment, along with a 12-volt power outlet. Rogue Sport SV and SL grades include Nissan Intelligent Key™ with Push Button Start.
Two interior colors are offered: Charcoal and Light Gray, along with available Gun Metal or Gloss Black finishers. Rogue Sport SL features stylish Gloss Black/Silver painted interior finishers.
Standard Rear Door Alert, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, available ProPILOT Assist
Nissan's innovative Rear Door Alert system is standard on all 2021 Rogue Sport grade levels, while ProPILOT Assist is standard on the SL grade and optional on SV. ProPILOT Assist is a "hands-on" driving assistance technology that eases driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions, such as single-lane highway driving7.
All 2021 Rogue Sport models include Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, with a NissanConnect® 7.0-inch color touch-screen display. Rogue Sport also has a number of available connected technology and smartphone integration features, including Nissan Door to Door Navigation and NissanConnect® Services powered by SiriusXM® (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), standard on Rogue Sport SL models.
Standard interior features include SiriusXM® Radio (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), 4-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with auxiliary audio input jack, USB connection port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth®, Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant (compatible smartphone required) and RearView Monitor. Available Remote Engine Start system1 provides flexibility to start the Rogue Sport remotely using the keyless entry fob.
2.0-liter engine, nimble handling, available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive
Rogue Sport, while sharing the Rogue name and Common Module Family platform, stands on its own as a stylish, nimble, fun-to-drive and affordable compact SUV. The Rogue Sport has a shorter wheelbase and shorter overall length than Rogue, helping make it more maneuverable in city traffic and an ideal size for tight city parking spaces.
Every 2021 Rogue Sport comes equipped with a standard 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder rated at 141 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm and 147 lb-ft of torque @ 4,400 rpm. The engine features Direct Injection Gasoline system, Twin Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control on both intake and exhaust, Diamond Like Carbon-coated valve lifters, Tumble Control Valve and an 11.2:1 compression ratio. The engine is matched with an Xtronic transmission with standard Eco Mode switch.
The nimble handling is the result of the 104.2-inch wheelbase and 4-wheel independent suspension – a front independent-strut suspension with stabilizer bar and twin-tube shock absorbers and multi-link independent rear suspension with twin-tube shock absorbers and stabilizer bar. While many competitors in the compact SUV segment choose a rear torsion beam suspension, Rogue Sport offers an independent rear multi-link design to provide that extra sense of dynamic performance. Nissan believes buyers coming into this segment, usually as first time SUV owners, want to enjoy driving excitement and feel a connection to the road.
Responsive steering is provided by an Electric Power-assisted Steering with Sport setting. Four-wheel vented disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake force Distribution and Brake Assist are also standard.
The available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system can quickly respond and adapt to changing conditions. Intelligent AWD initially delivers power to both front and rear wheels for improved grip. Once the vehicle is up to speed, the system sends all of the power up front (100:0 ratio), resulting in higher efficiency. In slick conditions and tight corners, Intelligent AWD automatically transfers the optimal amount of power from front to rear, up to 50:50.8
Every Rogue Sport also offers a standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System with position monitoring and Nissan's innovative Easy-Fill Tire Alert. Hill Start Assist is also standard, along with a suite of confidence-inspiring dynamic technologies – Active Trace Control, Active Engine Braking and Active Ride Control.

The 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport comes in three well-equipped trim levels – S, SV and SL, each available in a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Also included are a seatback pocket on driver's seat, Intelligent Around View® Monitor, 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/45R19 all-season tires, Intelligent Driver Alertness9 and Traffic Sign Recognition.
