FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Nissan today announced a leadership transition within its Americas Purchasing organization. Effective April 1, Steve Jernigan, currently senior director, Production Purchasing, is appointed Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and Vice President, Purchasing, Nissan Americas. Jernigan succeeds Andrew Wareing, who is retiring after more than 30 years of service to the brand.
“Andrew’s strategic direction and commitment to developing talent have strengthened Nissan’s purchasing operations and played a vital role in the company’s success in the region,” said David Johnson, regional senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan Americas. "We are immensely grateful for his leadership and wish him all the best in retirement."
Jernigan will lead all purchasing activities supporting Nissan’s operations across the Americas, including vehicle assembly and engine manufacturing in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil, as well as purchasing project management and supplier relations. He joined Nissan in 2010 and has held multiple leadership roles within Purchasing and Supply Chain Management.
Jernigan will be based in Franklin, TN and will report to Johnson.
