NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 16, 2006) – Nissan continued its strong showing in the Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) season with wins for its Nissan Frontier and Nissan Titan race trucks at the Bark River, Mich U.P. Off Road 100 event, August 11 – 12. In the Pro Lite class, hometown favorite Chad Hord, from nearby Felch, Mich., dominated the 21-truck field in Saturday’s Round 9 event, driving his Nissan Frontier-bodied racing machine. Carl Renezeder, of Lake Forest, Calif. also took first position in his full-size Titan racer in a Pro 2 race during this event, which was held at the challenging 1.39-mile Bark River Off Road Raceway.
“My Frontier was just flat out awesome,” said Hord. “The win was even more special because of all of the CORR venues, this one is at my ‘home’ track.”
In Sunday’s Round 10, Hord continued his strong run and came in second, marking his ninth podium in ten starts. Hord continues to battle for the lead in the 2006 CORR Pro Lite standings, currently in second place, a mere 11 points behind the leader.
In Pro 2, Renezeder continued his winning ways with a victory in Sunday’s Round 10. This victory marks four wins in the last six races, and puts Renezeder a mere five points away from first place in the Pro 2 championship standings.
“Carl Renezeder and Chad Hord are simply great off-road racers, with talents that are matched by their Nissan-bodied racing machines,” said Ron Stukenberg, senior manager, Nissan Motorsports marketing and operations. “Chad is a contender for the CORR Pro Lite championship and Carl is knocking on the door for the Pro 2 points lead. We’re definitely hoping to make it a Nissan championship sweep this year!”

Pro Lite
In Saturday’s Round 9 Pro Lite action, Chad Hord worked through tough traffic to win the race. In Sunday’s Round 10, Hord again fought through the field and ended up in the second position. On the podium he was joined by veteran racer Art Schmitt, of Pittsburgh, Penn., who finished third in his Nissan Frontier racer.
Pro 2
After breaking an accessory driveshaft while challenging for the lead in Round 9, Renezeder, in his 715-horsepower Nissan Titan-bodied race truck, once again found victory lane in Sunday’s Round 10. Renezeder found his groove and not only won, but also set the fast time. Bark River remains a special place for Titan, as the July Bark River event marked the first victory for the full-size Titan in Pro 2.
CORR and Nissan
The next Pro-series event marks CORR’s return to Crandon, Wisc. The “Borg Warner World Championship Off-Road Races” are scheduled for September 2 and 3, 2006.
Now in its 9th season, Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) combines fender-to-fender racing on challenging closed course dirt tracks in the Midwest and Southern California. Televised on a tape-delay basis on the SPEED Channel, CORR is arguably the largest and most watched off-road racing series in North America.
