What’s New – August 2019
The best-selling vehicle in the Nissan lineup – the 2020 Rogue – is added to this edition of What’s New. Following a number of enhancements for the previous model year, Rogue remains essentially unchanged for 2020.  The 2020 Maxima also makes its first appearance. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is now standard on all five Maxima grade levels, along with some other new model year enhancements. See below for all the details on both Rogue and Maxima.

Also updated is the 2020 Versa – which has arrived at Nissan dealers nationwide with a starting MSRP of $14,730. See below for the full price list for the dramatically styled all-new Versa. Also added is full pricing for the 2020 Nissan GT-R, Nissan GT-R Track Edition and the GT-R NISMO.

2020 Nissan Rogue

The 2020 Rogue is available in three well-equipped grade levels, S, SV and SL, each offering a highly desirable combination of compact overall size and ample interior roominess. Rogue, Nissan’s top-selling model, features a full array of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies – starting with the advanced ProPILOT Assist¹. ProPILOT Assist is standard on Rogue SL and available on SV models.

Rogue SV and SL grades also come equipped with standard Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and High Beam Assist.

The 2020 Rogue again offers exceptional passenger and cargo flexibility with its innovative Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System. The standard Rear Door Alert (RDA)² system can help remind customers of items that may be forgotten in the rear seat – valuables, dry cleaning, groceries and more. RDA is designed to be simple, unobtrusive and can be easily turned on or off as needed.

All 2020 Rogue models are equipped with a responsive 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft or torque. The engine is matched with an advanced Xtronic transmission with standard Sport Mode and Eco switches. Fuel economy³ is rated at 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined for front-wheel drive models. Rogue AWD models are rated at 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined³.

2020 Nissan Maxima

Following a mid-cycle freshening for the 2019 model year, the 2020 Maxima offers additional enhancements, including making Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of active safety technologies, standard across the entire lineup. In addition, the previous Premium Package content, including Dual Panel Panoramic Moonroof and Intelligent Around View® Monitor, is now standard on the Maxima SR grade.

The 2020 Maxima is available in five well-equipped models: Maxima S, SV, SL, SR and Platinum, each equipped with a 300-horsepower 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine and performance-oriented Xtronic transmission.

The 2020 Maxima sedan’s aggressive styling features a voluminous front grille with a deep V-motion grille, standard jewel-like LED headlights and Nissan Signature Daytime Running Lights – contributing to the flagship sedan’s premium, high performance appearance.

Available interior features include Rear Door Alert (RDA), SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with Advanced Auto Features (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately) and Nissan Door to Door Navigation system (standard on SV grade and above). Maxima Platinum models include standard NissanConnect® with Navigation and Services featuring Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoÔ.

2020 Nissan Versa

The completely redesigned Nissan Versa subcompact car is poised to redefine the subcompact car segment. Already the sales-leading nameplate in the category¹, the 2020 Versa offers a new level of refinement with a dramatic design and is loaded with technology and safety features not usually found in the segment – all for a price fitting buyers in the segment.

The third of four popular Nissan cars to be redesigned in the past year, the all-new Versa – with a clear design expression of the Nissan brand – will serve the more than five million customers who buy sedans each year in the U.S. Sedans remain a popular choice for Gen X, Millennials and multicultural customers.

The new design features lower, wider and longer exterior dimensions while retaining Versa’s roomy interior space. Inside, the Versa interior continues with Nissan signature design elements, including the “Gliding Wing” instrument panel that expands the feel of the space through use of a light and sleek “wingspan.”

The next generation 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine offers 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque paired with the enhanced Xtronic transmission or a 5-speed manual.

The available Nissan Safety Shield 360 technologies include Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning and High Beam Assist. Other available equipment includes Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on Versa SV and SR grades. Available driver assistance technologies include Intelligent Driver Alertness and Intelligent Cruise Control.

Other tech features often reserved for more expensive segments are standard in the 2020 Versa, including remote keyless entry, push button start and power windows. Popular features like heated front seats, Automatic Climate Control, Apple Car Play® and Android AutoTM are also available.

The 2020 Versa is offered in three models – S , SV and the sporty SR, which adds an extra touch of sportiness.

2020 Nissan GT-R

Few vehicles in the world can be instantly identified by just three letters. But to motoring enthusiasts everywhere, “GT-R” has become synonymous with excitement, high performance and unparalleled refinement. The 2020 Nissan GT-R will come in three trim levels in most markets: GT-R Premium, GT-R NISMO and GT-R Track – along with the GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition.

For 2020, the GT-R’s 565-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine – each handcrafted by its own Takumi technician – incorporates new turbochargers, which help increase the engine’s low rpm response due to an abradable seal, providing tighter clearances and a 5% increase in efficiency. Overall, GT-R has a sharper engine response in and out of corners, making the driving experience more rewarding and richer than ever before. The exhaust manifolds, inspired by racing technology, have optimized turbo flange attachment points, which allow for easier servicing and potential tuning, without touching the exhaust manifold. The GT-R’s signature exhaust note is the product of a new titanium muffler, featuring chrome finishers with burnished blue tips.

Every 2020 GT-R features a revised 6-speed dual-clutch transmission with a refined “R mode,” made for both road and track. The electronically controlled suspension has also been tuned to provide better cornering stability and a smoother ride. The steering is more linear and precise than ever, requiring minimal corrections at speeds of up to 186 mph. A new brake booster increases the initial braking response by engaging with less pedal stroke, resulting in enhanced stopping power and feel.

The GT-R’s cabin represents the ideal blend of luxury and sport. The distinct driver-oriented cockpit has comfortable yet supportive seats for both front and rear passengers. The center dashboard integrates navigation and audio controls and an 8-inch capacitive touch-panel monitor. The large icons on the display screen inform the driving experience without distracting from it.

For 2020, the GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition celebrates the GT-R’s rich heritage. The special edition comes in three heritage-era, two-tone exterior color combinations meant to represent the GT-R’s liveries from the Japan GP series – Bayside (Wangan) Blue with white racing stripes and blue accents on the wheel spokes, Pearl White with red stripes and Super Silver with white stripes. .

Inside the 50th Anniversary Edition is a special gray interior color scheme. Additional 50th anniversary features include unique steering wheel and shift knob trim, special seat embossing, an Alcantara® headliner with unique stitching, Alcantara-wrapped sunvisors, and more.

2020 GT-R NISMO

The 2020 Nissan GT-R NISMO features race car-inspired upgrades and tuning improvements that maximize its exhilarating performance. Setting the most potent and exclusive of all GT-Rs apart from the rest of the pack is the amount of carbon fiber found throughout the GT-R NISMO, including the front and rear bumpers, front fenders, hood, roof, side sill covers, trunk and rear spoiler. Each component has been improved to cut weight, increase downforce and enhance aerodynamics. These exterior parts alone have resulted in a total weight savings of 23 pounds, in addition to nearly 44 pounds of reductions from other upgrades and new components.

The front fenders now resemble those on the GT3 GT-R. Scalloped vents help funnel hot air away from the engine bay and provide exceptional downforce onto the front tires, without additional drag. They also improve aerodynamics by smoothing out airflow along the body, with special consideration given to avoiding the rear spoiler, promoting high-speed stability. A new compression process gives the carbon fiber roof a lightweight, tight weave.

The 2020 GT-R NISMO’s exclusive 20-inch RAYS forged aluminum wheels are lighter than before and incorporate a nine-spoke design that enhances their rigidity. Newly designed Dunlop tires, with a wider tread and fewer grooves, increase the contact patch by 11%. This results in higher cornering force, enhanced steering response and improved rolling resistance when compared with the previous model.

Inside the cabin, exclusive GT-R NISMO front seats are designed to focus on holding the shoulder blades and lower body points, giving the driver a better sense of car and body as one.

Nissan’s 3.8-liter V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine – each handcrafted by its own Takumi technician – remains the heart of the GT-R’s drivetrain. The GT-R NISMO features an exclusive turbocharger design – direct from the GT-R GT3 race car – with a modified turbine shape and fewer blades. This optimizes the flow rate and enhances the acceleration response by 20%, without a loss of horsepower. The car’s revised 6-speed dual-clutch transmission features a refined “R mode” that not only shifts faster but also optimizes gear selection, especially when exiting corners. The car’s exhaust note is the product of a revised titanium exhaust with handcrafted burnished blue tips.

The 2020 GT-R NISMO also features updated suspension tuning, which improves cornering stability, with enhanced yaw rate response and smoother ride quality. The steering features better linearity and precision than ever, requiring minimal corrections at speeds of up to 186 mph. The absolute performance theme is also fittingly reflected by the addition of a carbon ceramic brake system. The combination of the Brembo carbon ceramic rotors — enlarged to 16.1 inches up front and 15.3 inches at the rear — and Brembo calipers significantly improve reaction time, durability and overall stopping performance. The newly developed high-rigidity calipers are dipped in bright yellow paint that can resist temperatures of more than 1,832 degrees Fahrenheit.

2020 GT-R Track Edition

For those inclined to take their GT-R to a race circuit, Nissan offers the revised and very potent 2020 GT-R Track Edition, which comes with an optional carbon fiber roof that sports a clean, tight weave made possible by a new construction process.

The engine (for U.S. models) is borrowed from the famed GT-R NISMO, with newly redesigned turbochargers from the latest GT3 series GT-R race car. This results in a 20% increase in pedal-down acceleration reaction time and 600 horsepower.

Optional on the Track Edition are special Brembo carbon ceramic rotors and calipers. Made of carbon and silica carbide, the rotors (16.1 inches front and 15.3 inches rear) are nearly as hard as diamonds. Paired with the performance brake pads, they generate more friction, which translates into better feel and control in all types of braking situations.

The 2020 GT-R Track Edition will be available later this year.

2020 Nissan 370Z Coupe

The big news for the 2020 370Z Coupe is the addition of a new 370Z 50th Anniversary Edition package, which celebrates five decades of sports car passion. The 370Z 50th Anniversary Edition is offered exclusively on the 370Z Coupe Sport grade and is available with both the 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmissions. Its unique appearance pays tribute to the renowned Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE) livery that adorned the famous BRE Datsun racers of the late 1960s and early 1970s – in a choice of two exterior two-tone color options: White/Red or Silver/Black with bold door stripes.

Other exterior features include unique red wheel accents, black outside mirrors, 50th Anniversary side marker decals and 50th Anniversary rear badge. In addition, the standard Sport front chin and rear spoilers have been deleted.

The car’s unique interior treatment features leather-appointed and synthetic suede sport seats with red accents and logos, 50th Anniversary embossing on the seatbacks, leather or Alcantara® steering wheel with top red stripe, 50th Anniversary badges on the tachometer and console, synthetic suede door panel inserts with red stitching, red contrast stitching and piping throughout the interior, dark silver 50th Anniversary kickplates and 4-way power heated seats.

The MSRP¹ for the 50th Anniversary Edition package is $2,600 above the 370Z Coupe Sport MSRP.

2020 Nissan 370Z NISMO

The 2020 370Z NISMO is once again instantly recognized by its GT-R-inspired functional and fully integrated aerodynamic body pieces – which provide an aggressive and more aerodynamic appearance, along with optimizing front and rear downforce. The standard 19-inch NISMO super-lightweight forged aluminum-alloy wheels by RAYS feature a twin-five spoke design and a charcoal gray machine finish. Inside, the unique NISMO-styled interior features black-and-red Recaro® leather-appointed seats with Alcantara® accents.

The 370Z NISMO is powered by a potent 350-horsepower 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift Control (VVEL). Torque is rated at 276 lb-ft. Two transmission choices are offered for the 370Z NISMO model – a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with standard SynchroRev Match® or a refined 7-speed automatic with Downshift Rev Matching (DRM), Adaptive Shift Control and manual shift mode with paddle shifters.

The 370Z NISMO also features a refined 4-wheel independent suspension, NISMO-branded strut tower brace for enhanced body rigidity and a pair of performance dampers to help minimize road-input vibrations and help contribute to the 370Z NISMO’s high levels of handling and performance feel. Large Nissan Sport Brakes and a Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD) are also standard.

2020 Nissan Altima

Following the introduction of a totally new generation design just last year, the Nissan Altima maintains its standing in 2020 as one of the most exciting, advanced vehicles in its class with its lean, architectural styling and confidence-inspiring driving performance. Altima again features available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and exclusive Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies such as ProPilot Assist.

Enhancements for the new model year include the addition of Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard for the Altima SR. Also new is the Driver Assist Package for the Altima S grade – making Safety Shield 360 technology standard or available across the entire 2020 Altima lineup.

The 2020 Altima is offered in a choice of two powerplants, both newly introduced last model year. Standard on all grade levels is the 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine, which is rated at 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque.

The 2.0-liter VC-Turbo inline 4-cylinder, the world’s first production-ready variable compression turbo inline 4-cylinder, delivers near V6-level performance with 4-cylinder fuel economy. The engine is rated at 248 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque (premium fuel) and is available on Altima SR and Platinum VC-Turbo front-wheel drive grades. Both engines are matched with a next-generation Xtronic transmission.

In addition to its standard front-wheel drive, the 2020 Altima also offers available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, which is available on all trim levels equipped with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. The system uses an advanced torque split control strategy that automatically redistributes torque to the wheels (from 0:100 front up to 50:50 front-to-rear) according to road and driving conditions.
